We arrive at a situation at the same time the situation arrives at us,

A rush or panic holds us overwhelmed in our own little universe.

We feel and fumble for a reason now,

But, this obstacle of now could always be witnessed in the stream of down.

How could we miss,

Something we witnessed,

Even though we foresaw.

And then we foreswore,

It wouldn’t happen again,

We must have let this devil in.

It crunches and cracks,

Wet metal whips at our backs,

The train has come off of the tracks.

We feed it fuel for it’s flame,

Made from doubt and our blame,

The world it is here to claim.
