As I Tried to Say Goodbye

As I Tried to Say Goodbye

[Written: 2024-11-18]

I felt we were parting on a random day,

I saw you there guiding your energy, like a ray

of light blinding all those who have strayed,

A rabbit in headlights stuck in it’s place.

I try to hold on, a tiny spider lost in space,

Your being; a guardian of a whole human race.

I reach out to touch you, all I manage is a strand of your hair,

Do you know what parts of you you left here in my memory, to ask I do not dare.

As I tried to say goodbye to you, I could not disguise how small I was,

A particle in the breath of you, I’m blown away because.

I know there’s nothing left of me that that I can offer to your plight,

No, not from my low height.

There is no sleep left for me to find tonight.

When you exhaled your breath of me the rush was such delight,

Though, I was blown out like a hurricane so far out of sight,

Whatever I was now lays on the boundaries between the devastation and the light.

But, if you feel alone sometime, think of me, I am by your side,

In your memory is an ever dream for me to peacefully reside.

A light flickers in the eye of you,

I wish I could have guided you, too.

I just couldn’t find the right reason to, put it into rhyme,

So, for now I will say goodbye my boo, unless you can rearrange our time,

And visit me safely, in this scattered brain of mine.

-The World is my lady, my lady is my world.
