Another Day, Another Start – A short rhyming poem on my mental health blog, highlighting burdens we all share as people.
When man did begin,
He was given everything.
A whole world and a mother,
Some sisters and some brothers.
During his and the worlds first greeting,
He’d steal girls hearts just as they had started beating.
Who they were meant to be,
From their bodies did they flee.
They then closed their eyes,
In self righteous suicide.
Leaving who they were far behind,
And learned to be different people during this weird time.
The tidal waving effect,
Struct through every single life and object.
Even shaking the ethereal,
Until our nightmares became ever real.
Now, we are hunted by our old selves,
To destroy the devils that do dwell.
In the forests of our subconscious,
We do not want to win this war, it seems obvious.
Let their bodies turn to stone of course,
Don’t let them compost and taint what Earth and what was.
Listen to who we were,
As they remove our atrophied minds curse.
Another day, another rebirth,
Another day to live, and another day to love.
