The Crushing Autumn Leaves

The Crushing Autumn Leaves

[Written: 2024-12-03]

The Autumn is upon me,

The crushing leaves have fallen.

There weight sheds off me too,

A dying world is calling.

You’re calling me to you,

So we can fight our battles.

On the losses that have left us bereft,

You stop the world from taking,

Until there is no energy left.

I sleep my body silent,

You are my heart and breath,

A clock that reminds me,

To feel us in our mind and take a guess.

As my rib cage falls crushing you,

I need to know what’s next.

I shed a weight of memories,

That put me to the test.

To fall into eternity,

Just me and you, you know what’s best.

I wake up from my slumber,

I wake up in the spring.

A hunger in my stomach,

But, I know I am king.

No memories to hold me back,

Just an instinct driving.

I can sit back and relax,

An enjoy this wonderful feeling.

What a beautiful world we are in,

Now this my love, is living.
