The Day

The Day

The Day – A short poem to put a positive spin on the everyday struggles of people with mental health struggles.

Everyday I wake at the end of time,

By night, I rest my head somewhere in the beginning.

Around the middle I find,

A mission that’s been self delivering.

Not everything experienced can be known,

And not everything known can be experienced.

Life is a tricky path to walk alone,

And it’s ever so mysterious.

If we can own the fact that treasured gold,

Is not all that it seems.

And if we do this before our blood runs cold,

We might see our most valuable currency lies deep within our dreams.

From the people we meet out on the street,

And the stories they say.

To the words we carefully choose to breath,

That can last more than just a day.

And together we shall find our strength again,

There will be no need to run.

In each of us a powerful zen,

We need no more or less than this, only to be human.
